Scottish born singer-songwriter Blue Walker is known for the rich, immersive qualities of her music. Although her tracks focus in on her smooth, deep vocal lines, they also offer a wide variety of encapsulating soundscapes that completely wrap you up in her sonic world.
‘It’s All Doom and Gloom’, her recently released debut EP, produced by John Azopardi and mastered by Graeme Lynch at Two Zero Nine Mastering, encapsulates all the best elements of her varied artistic palette.
Opening track ‘Tomorrow’ is a warming, emotive acoustic performance that highlights the crisp melodic power of Blue’s vocals while subsequent track ‘How Do You Do It?’ has a much more expressive and punchy pop rock sound with soaring melodies and a powerful stomping rhythm.
The beauty of this EP lies in the sonic balance between the intimate sentiments and the eclectic instrumentation, allowing all elements to shine through whether that be the sparkling piano notes on ‘Your Pain That Was Mine’ or the intricate shuffling drum rhythm on ‘Doom and Gloom’.
The flair, passion and emotive range of the EP has earned spots on a slew of appropriately titled playlists such as ‘New Rock Renaissance’ and a host of live shows stretching from the North-West to LA.
