Rock quartet Hallan have been raising plenty of eyebrows with their warped sound infused with electronic textures and rousing, angst-ridden vocals that create a raucous live atmosphere. Since joining forces with cult indie label Nice Swan Records, the label behind the likes of Opus Kink, SPRINTS, Courting and English Teacher, the band have gone from strength to strength becoming one of the most talked about newcomers on the punk rock scene and gaining backing from Dork, Loud & Quiet, The Forty-Five and Rough Trade.
Their recent release ‘Unwomanly Face Of War’, produced by Conor Clements, mixed by Jon Hucks (Shania Twain, Olly Murs, The Rills, Voodoo Bandits, Sheafs) and mastered by Graeme Lynch at Two Zero Nine Mastering, is the first single from their upcoming EP. The track has immediately caused a stir, becoming an instant fan favourite for those in the cult punk scene while also gathering attention on the mainstream national stage including a feature on Jack Saunders’ BBC Radio One Next Wave show and multiple plays from Steve Lamacq on BBC 6 Music.
Their live reputation that has earned them support slots with the likes of Sports Team and Porridge Radio has been captured on the single, making it the perfect exemplar for their growing popularity.
