South East London’s Odeal defies normalities, experimenting with a wide range of textures and flows while utilising an eclectic mix of influences from his time living in Germany, Nigeria and Spain to create a unique blend of Afrobeat and R&B.
His new album ‘Thoughts I Never Said’, mixed by Johnny Breakwell (PinkPantheress), and mastered by Graeme Lynch at Two Zero Nine Mastering (Bugzy Malone), was met with widespread acclaim, receiving rave reviews from the likes of CLASH magazine who praised the emotive depth of the record.
Sonically, the album carefully balances dense and punchy beats with silky instrumental textures and smooth vocal flows, dancing between soulful expression and intimate introspection, showcasing the richness of Odeal’s vocal tones as well as the flavoursome arrangement that breathes with an enticing romance and drama.
Following the success of the album, Odeal is about to embark on a worldwide tour which includes dates at Manchester Gorilla, London’s O2 Kentish Town Forum, Berlin’s LIDO and SOB’s in New York.
