Indie rock quintet The Palava have made an instant impact on their hometown scene in York and are quickly turning heads around the country with their electrifying sound. Formed off the back of a drunken conversation, their music reflects the wild nights and carefree coming-of-age stories that inspired some of the best anthems of the 00s.
However, their music is far from a scrappy creation of drunken mates, their songwriting carries a mature sophistication while their instrumentation is thoughtful and forceful, often layering distorted guitar lines to create a dense wall of sound underneath their tracks.
Their recent single ‘Powder Room’ is an instantly infectious indie rock hit, thanks, in part, to being recorded at the well regarded Chapel Studios that has hosted giants of the genre such as Arctic Monkeys, The Streets, Kaiser Chiefs and Editors to name a few. Pieter Rietkerk, who worked on Catfish and the Bottlemen’s latest album, took an active role on the release, lending his advice on arrangement as well as producing and mixing the track.
With the historic recording location, modern Indie insights of their production team and the mastering of Two Zero Nine Mastering, The Palava have all the support to showcase their exciting ability. Combine this with their driving riffs and electrifying energy that will fill any dance floor and you’ve got the perfect ingredients for an indie anthem.
